Exhibition of Pécs artists in Brussels
Kaleidoscope – Pécs2010 is the title of the exhibition of a group of Pécs artists that opened in the Hungarian Cultural Institution in Brussels on 15 January.
The exhibition was opened by Ferenc Csák state secretary for the Ministry of Education and Culture after which Krisztina Reményi director of the Cultural Institution gave a toast. Later, Dániel Szabó Pécs born pianist who started his musical education in the city in Ferenc Martyn Free School of Art as the pupil of Mária Apagyi gave a highly successful piano concert.
The works of the Pécs artists (Barna Benedek, András Ernszt, Ferenc Ficzek, Tibor Gyenis, Ferenc Lantos, Barna Leitner, Péter Lengyel, Zoltán Makra, Gábor Miklya, András Pincehelyi, Sándor Pincehelyi, Péter Somody, Zsuzsa Tóth, Rita Varga) can be viewed in the Belgian capital until 18 February 2010. After Brussels the exhibition will travel to Namur where the artworks will be accompanied by the photos of Lajos Kalmár (photo artist from Pécs) at the ‘Galerie du Beffroi’ between 4 and 28 March. After Namur the exhibition will move back to Brussels to the European Parliament this time.
The Kaleidoscope – Pécs2010 exhibition is part of a series in the framework of which the Hungarian Cultural Institutions operated by the Balassi Institution abroad give place (in their private arrangement) to Pécs-related cultural and art events throughout the year 2010.
