Ruhr-region visiting Pécs
Besides Pécs the Ruhr-region and Istanbul are going to be the European Capitals of Culture in 2010. The German National Tourist Board (DZT) supports the RUHR.2010 German Capital of Culture as its official partner. As the national marketing organisation of German tourism the board, together with RUHR.2010 GmbH and Ruhr Tourismus GmbH (RTG), wishes to introduce the RUHR region abroad to further strengthen the programme as well as Germany as a whole. . One of the highlights of the worldwide marketing actions are the 5 German nights that are conducted as the event of DZT PR in Sweden, France, Turkey, Austria and Hungary.
The RUHR.2010 will be the topic of the informational German evening in Pécs Palatinus Hotel on 26 November. During the event the artists of the Ruhr-region will entertain the invited guests. Before the gala Petra Hedorfer DZT chief executive officer, Dr. Fritz Pleitgen president of RUHR.2010 and Axel Biermann RTG president will give allimportant information on Germany, RUHR.2010, the European Capital of Culture Programme and the Ruhr-metropolis during a press conference.
After the protocol events in the evening on 26 November the residents of Pécs will have the opportunity to celebrate together with the people from the Ruhr-region.
Soon the one year long 20 years of freedom, Germany says „Danke” programme organised by the German Ministry for Foreign Affairs in honour of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall will come to an end. In the framework of this series of programmes a party is organised in PécsiEst Café where people can have fun and relax by the performances of Essen and Hungarian DJs and VJs.
