Soon the one year long 20 years of freedom, Germany says „Danke” programme organised by the German Ministry for Foreign Affairs in honour of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall will come to an end. In the framework of this series of programmes a party is organised in PécsiEst Café where people can have fun and relax by the performances of Essen and Hungarian DJs and VJs. /more

This Pécs band was formed by Gábor Bräutigam, Rezső Ózdi, András Kispál and András Lovasi in 1987. They started touring the country in 1989 and by now became one of the most well known and most popular alternative musical bands in the whole of the country. They are constant participants of the larger-scale local cultural and recreational events, as well as being one star guest at the very prestigious Sziget Festival every year in Budapest. /more

The investment projects of the Pécs2010 European Capital of Culture Programme are going according to the plans and are making excellent progress. In the framework of the Revival of the Public Spaces and Parks project a part of the historic downtown is being renewed. It includes the main square of the City of Pécs; Széchenyi square, the construction works of which will finish in weeks unless the weather turns extreme. /more

PEN2010 talent scout application

The organisers of the Pécs University Days launched the pop music talent scout programme in 2008 with the aim to make it a tradition. Its goal is to search for talented musicians and bands of the popular genres. The event had numerous participants and contestants in 2009 among whom the jury distributed such prizes that can help the career of a beginner band tremendously. /more
