Artistic Board

The members of the Artistic Board established on March 1, 2008 include individuals invited by the Minister of Culture and Education and the Mayor of Pécs:

• Giorgio Pressburger, author, director – Chairman of the Board
• Erika Koncz, deputy director-general, National Museum of Applied Arts – coordinator of the Board
• Zsolt Horváth, director of the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra
• Dr. Éva Lauter, director-general of the Balassi Institue
• Zoltán Pál, Munkácsy-prize holder sculptor
• János Vincze, director, acting director of Pécsi Harmadik Színház.

The Artistic Board participates in shaping a cultural image of Pécs that can be sustained in accordance with the objectives of cultural urban development and is worthy of the ECoC title, promotes the formulation of the cultural message of the ECoC year and the preparatory years, and continuously evaluates the implementation of the cultural concept.

The Board prepared the cultural concept of the Pécs2010 ECoC programme by April 30, 2008, which was later approved both by the General Assembly of Pécs and Minister of Culture and Education István Hiller.
