Send a message to the future by means of the "Zsolnay Future Stone"

The "Future Stones" are small pyrogranite plates made in the Zsolnay Factory to be displayed in the public spaces of the city in the framework of one of the key projects called "The revival of public squares and parks," together with the hand prints of celebrities who visit Pécs in relation to the European Capital of Culture programme.

We all would like to see each important event or action to leave its trace behind rather than vanish into oblivion in the years to come. The “Future Stone” is meant to serve this goal and will commemorate all the outstanding events of the Pécs2010 European Capital of Culture programme.

Everybody can decorate the small plates as they wish, capturing their own important moments or writing down their message for the future.

The Future Stones can be purchased for a symbolic price of HUF 2010. The revenues from the sale of the future stones will be used for the success of the Pécs2010 programme.

The numbered plates will be kept on the spot until they dry, thereafter they will be taken to the Zsolnay Factory for burning and will be kept there until they go on display. Buyers will be given a certificate on the spot.

Csészényi Airwaves – The common voice of the city

Thanks to the Regional Radio MR6 Pécs2010 ECoC programme regularly broadcasts a live radio programme called "Csészényi Airwaves." On the opening day several renowned local radio reporters talked about the ECoC programme with their guests for about 4 hours. Since then the ECoC radio programme can be heard every Wednesday from 16:00 to 17:30 at FM 101.7.

Join the ECoC programme by submitting your photo

Using an automatic camera you can take a picture of yourself with a characteristic feature of Pécs in the background. You can join the Pécs2010 European Capital of Culture by submitting your photo and make the programme more popular.
